Question 1

How often should pool chemicals be tested in Murrieta and Temecula?

Accepted Answer

During warm summer months in Southwest Riverside County, temperatures consistently surpass 100°F with intense UV indexes. Direct sunlight and warm water rapidly deplete chlorine and stimulate algae spores. Pools should be tested and chemically balanced at least once per week. We test Free Chlorine, pH, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness, and Cyanuric Acid (CYA) every visit to keep your LSI balanced and prevent scale and algae.

Question 2

How long does a green pool recovery take, and will it damage my plaster?

Accepted Answer

Most moderate to dark green pools are restored to sparkling clear, swim-ready condition within 3 to 5 days. We use an aggressive breakpoint chlorination and flocculant protocol, followed by vacuuming directly to waste bypass. Because we vacuum directly to waste, dead algae never clogs your filter or recirculates. Our chemical dosing is carefully calculated to protect plaster from acid or bleaching damage.

Question 3

Can a variable-speed pump replacement really cut my electric bill by up to 70%?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Older single-speed pumps run at full horsepower (3,450 RPM) regardless of filtration needs, consuming $80–$150+ in electricity monthly. Title 24 compliant variable-speed pumps can run at lower, whisper-quiet RPMs for longer filtration cycles, using up to 70% less energy. Most homeowners in Riverside County recoup their investment in 12 to 18 months.

Question 4

What is the difference between Full Weekly Service and Chemical-Only service?

Accepted Answer

Full Weekly Service is 100% turnkey: we skim the surface, brush tile and walls, vacuum the floor, empty skimmer and pump baskets, test and balance all chemicals, and verify filter operating pressure. Chemical-Only service focuses strictly on testing, balancing chemicals, and emptying baskets—best for homeowners with automated robotic cleaners.

Question 5

Is Rivera Pool Care licensed and insured in California?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Rivera Pool Care is a registered DBA of Claudio Rivera, licensed under California Contractor License CSLB #1053279 (C-35 Lathing & Plastering). We carry comprehensive general liability insurance, and all equipment repairs and installations are backed by our 1-year labor warranty plus manufacturer warranties.

Question 6

What happens during rainy days or severe Santa Ana windstorms?

Accepted Answer

Our routes run year-round, rain or shine. In light rain, technicians complete chemical testing, balancing, and basket emptying. During severe storms or lightning, we ensure sanitizers are dosed to prevent algae blooms and clear pump baskets to prevent motor burnouts, returning to finish vacuuming once winds subside.
